The NIMHANS Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders subspeciality is comprised of 4 neurologists and 1 neurosurgeon with vast clinical experience, immense research acumen and the zeal to do their best in the management of the patients with movement disorders. They have expertise in varied areas ranging from Parkinson’s disease, atypical and secondary parkinsonism, and various other movement disorders to electrophysiology, deep brain stimulation, botulinum toxin therapy, sleep, neuro-infection, neuroinflammation and genetics in movement disorders. All faculty in the PDMDS are continually striving to further their understanding about various movement disorders with the help of multiple clinical and basic sciences related research projects. In addition, many neurology residents, post-doctoral fellows and PhD scholars have taken training under them and are working in various part of the country as well as the world in both clinical care and research.
